Had a funny one tonight. Parked the car, fiddled around a bit, got out, closed the doors and locked. Noticed that the left side side lights and taillight were on. Not a train smash, so switched off the lights (always on auto) but no go. They stayed on.

Then checked if headlight delay was on, no that worked separately and went off after a bit, but the side lights still on.

Opened up, light switch on/off, no change. Then I found out that the indicator was still on left (must have hit it while fiddling), so set it to neutral all lights off. Tried moving it to right and the right side lights came on !!! So back to neutral and all is fine.

Now the question is, what the heck is going on ?? Anybody any ideas ?? Earthfault somewhere ??

Note that sometimes all the lights stay on (set on auto) while stopping, getting out, locking. Then I switch them off and next morning back on auto and everything is fine for weeks. But the one described above is new.

Parking lights I think the idea is so you can just leave the two lights on (farest from kerb / roadside instead of all four) using the indicator switch to choose which side you want to illuminate .
