CAM-TECH-CRAIG! need some more information please! this looks like a really good upgrade however there are a few things id like to check before ordering the kit and fitting. can you let me know how you accurately define where to drill the 2 holes into the lower tailgate? also how do you drill the side whole the bumper blocks the angle for the drill entry? special tools needed? thanks

If you place the bracket on the lower boot and leave an equal gap around the outside, look at the picture on the first page of this thread (it will all become clear when you line it up) then drill the top hole and fit a screw. Then close the boot half way and you can get to the drilling angle easily... Hope this helps...

Dan @ Duckworths - could you please verify the parts required for this mod and perhaps package us up a price please? thanks Smile

Also not sure why there are 3 bracket types as per MYVATN's post. CAM-TECH-CRAIG can you let us know the parts if you have the numbers handy? BTW what drill bit size do you use ?

I have no idea what screws/bolts Land Rover use to fix them with... We use our own fixings...
I'm sure Dan will give you part no's

LR021053 bracket
LR017455 strut
LR017461 strap

£21+VAT for the above lot.

there are few variations in part numbers depending on model years, but as this is being retro fitted i wouldn't worry about it

And if you wanted the screws LR003808 x 2 M6 x 16mm You can paypal direct using - www.paypal.me/duckworthparts

Cam-Tech-Craig - thanks for the information but still a query in my head. The parts thats Dan refers to are m6 x16mm screws to secure the bracket to the lower tailgate but surely this only applies to the pre-drilled lower tailgates provided by the factory for 2010 > models? If that is the case I will need a screw that will securely hold the bracket in place..which screws to you use, could you take a photo for us? thanks!

Dan @ Duckworths - I have sent you an email re: order

If anyone else has experience of installing this please comment!

I've never taken the trim card off, but I bet you could get your hand in and fit a nut to the inside where the bolt passes through? Someone might be able to confirm this 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

1. Open upper tailgate.
2. remoce all the black screws from the top plastic trim(housing the release button) from the lower tailgate.
3. Press the release button for the lower tailgate once all screws are removed so as not to lose them.
4. Lower tailgate and remove the plastic upper trim from it.
5. Using gentle persuasion lift at one of the upper corners(closest to you as you stand at the tailgate) to prise the retainer clips away. Be gentle as they are fragile and i think about £1-2 each..
6. work your way acros the rest of the trim panel and spend a bit more attention toward the bottom due to the spring loaded cover that helps push it back down.
7. check all the retainer clips for damage and if needed replace them.

Refitting is the reverse of removal Very Happy
