United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover 4.4 V8 Vogue Auto Adriatic Blue

I would spend my money on a CLS...

I think they age much better than an E or S Class. Ram Kanadia

Pretty car, but feels cramped and cheap inside. IMHO. I;ve had loads of Mercs. The old ones (up to about 1998) feel far better engineered. Graham

Scotland 2002 Range Rover Td6 SE Auto Oslo Blue

The new S-Class feels cramped inside. Yes they can suffer from rust, rear and front arches need to be checked regularly. 7 speed boxes have been known to give problems too and the Blue Efficiency engine is not as economical as the earlier IL6.

Nice cars if they have lots of money lavished on them to keep them up to standard, but when things go wrong they are expensive to fix.

I might get shot for saying this, but you can get a lot of Lexus for your money. I have always been quite impressed by them, although I have only driven the earlier ones. Which were far better than the Mercs at the time, in my opinion.

I agree with you on the cramped feeling, it's the high window ledges and the small windows that give that impression, it's something you get used to quite quickly.

Not sure I agree with you about them feeling cheap inside, build quality wise, it's on par, if not better than a 2005 A4 S-Line I had a few years ago, it's put together really well, no creaks, squeaks or rattles from mine and everything works perfect, it's done a little over 111k too. Everything is leather inside which makes it a nice place to be, granted the leather on the seats isn't as good quality as the FFRR, but it is still good quality stuff. 2006 Mercedes CLS

Fair enoughski. I've not owned one, but was seriously tempted a couple of years ago. I bought this instead...
