Very faint "thud" when car is idling?

Just noticed that when I'm sitting stopped, parked etc, after a few minutes I notice a very faint "thud" from the front somewhere. It seems to happen every minute or so and I think I can feel it very slightly through the steering wheel and pedals, but from outside, I can't hear it at all.

With my warranty due for renewal, I want to be sure this isn't the start of something expensive that can be fixed before I renew (or not).

Anybody got any thoughts?

Could be anything I guess! Big Cry

It's hard noise to describe, but it's definitely from the front. I guess if there's something at the front that controls the compressor, then maybe, but it's more of a "mechanical" thud if that makes sense?

Thanks for the suggestion. The more the merrier! Thumbs Up Got - 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black

The pump for the air con compressor is a mechanical clutch which will clunk on and off and will change the trends very slightly. V8 or else.

Easy enough to test. Turn the aircon and fan/blowers off... Graham
