I dont think a thermostat is that expensive, around £30-£40 from a quick google search. its basically just a valve with a wax block in, when the wax block melts the valve opens. will need to replace coolant also.

dan [duckworths] is the best place to get the thermostat and you'll need fresh coolant as well. ..............................

I would think if the pump fails or thermostat stays shut the temp would raise above a safe level.

My SC has the same issue with the temp gauge. When we had the cold spell the other day the temp gauge barely got off the blue on a 40 mile journey and I wasn't getting any hot air through into the cabin. Time to investigate I think. |

It's a new thermostat she needs Nick , I was going to get it done before I traded her in , reason for not doing so

Is the access easier on the S/C? I, too, have the swinging temp issue!
