Yeah read this, seems some people use less than others, moment of truth will be on the strip down . I've got some mates that work at JLR so I will ask for backup.

Just completed my 2006 conversion and very pleased I am too. Followed all the wiring diagram from powerful uk for the headlamp plugs and everything worked first time ....except for the side lights? I get the 'check front light' error on the dash and no side lights. Every other light works fine. Ah well nearly got it right first time - just have to re-check the cabling - at least I am consistent as neither side works Smile

Its always the simple things you overlook.........both side light bulbs had blown - nice simple fix Smile Thumbs Up "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Stan is right Smile I used this thread and the wiki as guidance.

I collected the bits over a period of time based on the various lists on this site. Found I didn't need some items but collected them anyway. Fabricating some brackets to fit the headlights as the ones I got (like so many on eBay) didn't come with required plastic brackets - and you can't get them separately from LR

Took me a day and a half to do on my own in a normal domestic garage so fairly straightforward.

The result is what I was hoping for so I am pleased with my efforts. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

I was going to do mine recently but it then decided otherwise, it thought spending my 'hard earned' on mechanical bits that decided to fail would be more appropriate instead. Now it thinks its fun to drink water all over the electrics in the rear quarter so maybe if I get to spring next year with some spare pennies left I will do the 2006 facelift Big Cry

Ok just to round off this conversion and as some have asked for some pics here we go:

As was originally

During the cutting of the wing tabs

Checking the fit of the new headlight

Finished Article - pleased with that (just have the new washer bottle and jet pump to fit and thats done.

Great articles on this forum that made this all straightforward so thanks to all who took the time to write up the process.

At the moment they are very crude but functional brackets. I will be fabricating a better looking item soon and will post a pic of that. They are just basic brackets really so nothing flash. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."
