Trying to move up from Discovery, please read below and come back with answers.

Came across this vehicle in an old established car dealer in Glasgow. Specialises in top end cars.
03 plate Range Rover 2.5d HSE, auto, 80k miles FSH lots of goodies
Priced at £6995. Does this sound a reasonable price or is it low with something possibly not right.

input would be greatly appreciated.

if its a 03 then it cant be a 2.5d .....can it? ..............................

Discoveries i know well but RR are a new world to me.
Can you tell me when 2.5d were in production please.
Have'nt seen the vehicle in the flesh yet but probably will on Saturday.

The 2.5 was the P38 model like the picture below





If it is a P38 then it's way too much money and of it's an L322 it's mega cheap and would need checking very carefully

Is it a dealer who specialises in classic cars? 

pretty sure they stopped the 2.5d in 2002 and thats when the l322 came into existent.. ..............................

Dealer is Niddrie Motor Company in Carmunnock rd and seem to deal in Range Rovers, Merc 4x4 etc.
Photo on their site looks like the P38, no side air thingies.

That's very pricey for a p38 and as scarey said I'm pretty sure they didn't make one on an 03 plate "RANGEISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED"

yup, they got the year wrong!

There are no 2.5D 2003 Range rovers. 2.5 Diesels were fitted to the second generation range rover which ended in 2002.

My 3rd generation Range rover was registered in April 2002 !

There is small chance it was a one off? Or the vehicle was first registered in 2003 but manufactured in 2001?

Yes it's a P38 so old stock that has been lying around a wet field for a couple of years. Way too expensive and dire reliability










Oddly enough the details do not come up on the DVLA website although they do show on the RAC site as a 2003 2.5litre

Lovely cars though had one myself hated the 6000 mile service intervals though pita. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE
