Detailing

Although I have all the stuff to do it myself I'll get my car detailed by a professional - just this once. Got it booked in at Miglior in Accrington next week will post photos when done for you to judge wether it was worth 600 or so quid to save me a days work Shocked Had SWMBO's car done last week - she seems pleased. Geoff

I'd be interested to hear what you get for £600. I assume it's a full detail including paint correction and sealant etc ? Current: FF Westminster money pit

Gone:

I bought the car because it was in all round good condition, so the photos may not be telling. Just running my hand across a panel it’s clear it needs “claying”. I know it’s a DIY job and I have got all the stuff (inc. a DA polisher) and so could easily do it myself (weather permitting) as it would take a few days to clay, machine polish, seal and wax. I just fancied having it done initially and then I’ll maintain it, after all what’s 600 quid in the great scheme of Range Rover ownership? And obviously Accrington is just around the corner from me Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Geoff

For around £700 I had my RR when new, detailed, paint corrected and ceramic coated, with a 3 year warranty. After photo below:

Curious when you say a 3 year warranty, what can they actually cover for that length of time?

Mr Tee, basically if the ceramic coating fails then they will re-coat it.

18 months in and it’s like new after a quick wash. MY17 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

There are a few more ‘after’ photo’s in ‘my gallery’ if you want to take a look.

Have to say I have been so impressed with the protection that the ceramic coating provides that I have had 3 new cars treated. If anyone wants a recommendation for a detailer/ceramic coaster in Worcestershire then let me know. MY17 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

Iv just done this little jimny before i sell it not that anything was wrong with it BUT it just needed a light detail which was
1. Snow foam/ rinse
2. Snow foam and clay bar then rinse again
3. Rotary polisher white pad with scratch remover
4. Rotary polisher with blue pad and polish
5. Wax coate sealant.

I would consider this a once a year thing followed up with service washes between and only requiring the odd polish and wax if done properly

I Do mine myself, i enjoy doing it myself, I wouldn’t trust anyone enough to do the £700 spoodle for free ! It’s part of the ownership and the self satisfaction.l
