The bolts that come out from mine do have a shank, of sorts at least. I know from bitter experience of taking several hours getting mine out as they were also stuck pretty solid.

Yes at that price you have some head room for “sorting it” but just bear in mind everything is quite pricey to fix in these, struts on a 4.4 are significantly more than say a 3.6 and so on.

Quite a reasonable chunk of change back in 2008/09.

Give they are probably 10% of that value they are pretty good value for money if you have one that's been loved.
