I really wouldn't worry about the gearbox - ours occasionally does it and has done ever since we've had it.

Just to eliminate the CV joint - have you checked the gaitor is secure and properly fitted - if not, the grease will have come out and the joint may be getting damaged. I assume you had the gaitor rep ...

Did the issue start after they changed the CV joint?

If so, then it may be a problem with the new joint.

In the OP, all are advertised as Bilstein with the same part number.

It's an interesting question - I have no idea why the prices vary some much for the same part.

No fault codes came up.

Interesting - I would have expected a displayed gearbox fault message to have logged at least one DTC indicating as to why it was showing you the message - what did you read ...
