Don't be too sure about the clutch. Mine is a later car, but the IID tool always shows OFF even when the clutch is obviously on and the aircon is working.....

Of course it may be reading correctly ...

My guess: You can try, I don't see why it shouldn't work. The manual says replace the billets once removed though - maybe they are too soft to replace?

When undoing the crank bolt, what did you use to brace the reaction arm* thingy on the multiplier?

*I've no idea what the correct term is for this.
