Reduced engine performance (again)

Hi,

2006 s/c has thrown up the REP a couple of times both going up a steep hill with cruise on at the max motorway speed limit. Once with full tank of petrol, other with an 1/8th.

No EML came on and both times fault cleared with switch off and on.

No engine faults recorded on the system using the OBD11 tool.

I have checked the aux coolant pump and it is wired correctly.

Any ideas? Not sure it is like Dans fuel pump problem as no error codes and happened with full tank, and aux coolant pump is wired correctly but I suppose it does not necessarily mean it works.

Thanks,

Grant

So...........wait until I do get a code then...........

Does anyone know if a faulty MAF would do this without error codes?

Thanks.

Well this may or may not help, just throwing it out there. My dads vogue had power problem like urs and error code, bought a cheap fuel pump on the bay, it got rid of code and improved a little, but wasn't until Indy fitted it with genuine fuel pump that he got the power back. Some fuel pumps don't pump enough or hard enough if u get my drift..no dirty comments please Rolling Eyes Thumbs Up

Yip,

Read Dansx2 on either fuel pump or aux oolant pump. Both shoud give fault codes.

Not really had the problem with spluttering/misfiring as contraband etc.

So, just looking if anyone had any ideas!

Thumbs Up

Lolo, thanks but no fault code stored to say it is definitely the fuel pump.

No fault codes at all in fact. (ignoring urge to make fuel pump jokes)

I had this repeatedly, but with no obvious loss of power. Was just after I bought the car so I threw it back at the dealers. They sent it off to an indy to sort - they were pretty vague about what had been done, but said it was to do with a "software reset" - all I can say is it's never appeared since!
