Non Facelift Speaker System Upgrade

I suppose I was always going to ask this question, after having my BM54 amp upgraded, but has anyone retrofitted the facelift high end speakers into a non facelift car ?

Do we know the specs of the speakers, and whether they would be a straight swap ?

I'm talking about the system in the cars with the touchscreen sat nav, going into a non-touchscreen car......

Think they say Harman/Kardon on the grille.

Would the crossovers have to be different do we know ?

I'm thinking of these ones ;

Any thoughts appreciated.........

Thanks

Wow, this is an old thread. I didn’t in the end. I had the Stage 1 then the Stage 2 amp upgrade from Baris on here and it totally changed the system, even with stock speakers.

If you are in to your music, do the stage 2 and then decide.

I think the newer speakers are an upgrade still though, so if you drop on a set cheap, might still be worth doing, but def upgrade the BM54 amp first.

Thanks, I also found BM54 thread and will do that upgrade first.

Found one post from Craig saying he did the upgrade and not noticeable change in sound quality.
He did not mention(and I could not found)if with newer Logic7(more speakers) is necessary to also change system amplifier to newer one? Just assuming the newer amplifier should be more powerful or is the standard one powerful enough or even same?

The DSP and the logic 7 are different systems, I don’t believe you can simply swap amps. Do the amp upgrade and you will be happy I’m sure. He can also add an Aux in etc if you need one.

See what you think then.

Speakers should just be a “straight swap” baring any slight connector mods.
