fuse 49

hi, a few weeks ago my multi dvd player situated in the left of the boot,on my 07 tdv8 vse, stopped working,,it has no power going to it,and wont eject the dvd's
it didnt bother me much, but a week or so later,my battery died too
i replaced the battery for the equivelant, but a week later it has died too
when in the landrover specialist ,they said there was a drain which is flattening the battery, they said fuse 49 was using .68 something(ohms?) when it should be asleep, the car normally drains .03 naturally, they said fuse 49 is part of the entertainment system but were reluctant to start swapping things out and so referred me to my dealer,i'm not keen on this as the last problem took 3 days for them not to solve
my question is,,,,would it be ok to remove fuse 49 altogether so that it doesn't flatten the new battery again?
would removing it harm the car in any way? what else may not work?
thanks

Fuse 49 runs your whole AV system and your display screen - if its out then you cant access any functions you would be able to normally. Ive taken it out a few times to hard reset the system but always put it back. When I say other functions I mean TV, radio, satnav etc,. 2006 MY Autobiography. With 'toys'

thanks for that
you wouldnt like to guess at what could be draining the battery could you?
i understand my specialist not wanting to swap parts out,but i really dont want to leave it with the dealer with a blank cheque

Id start with the reason the dvd player doesnt work - something has gone and I would try and trace it back. Also there are a few threads on here re battery drain from FBH to faulty earths.

Finally there is more than 1 fuse that are marked radio, tv etc - should be in book or on reverse of fuse cover. 2006 MY Autobiography. With 'toys'
