2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Zermatt Silver

Gear Selection Issue

My wife's car has suddenly developed an issue when trying to select the correct gear.

For instance, when trying to start it in P, you need to "jiggle" the gear lever slightly until it recognises that it is actually in the correct position.

Similarly, it intermittently doesn't seem to like being put in D and you have to again "jiggle" the lever about a bit.

Seems/feels like a mechanical issue.

Anyone had similar?

Could just be the early stages of the selector lever (at the transmission end) cable clamp pivot seizing up?
