Nokia phone partially works

hello, old dinasour here.
I have the Nokia cradle fitted and matching phone. All has been working for the last 3 years. On saturday i noticed that when the phone is in the cradle i have lost half of its functionality.
I can make calls and access messages.
What was stopped working is the phonebook and previous calls.
Anyone have an ideas?.

i would check the sim card is in properly ...take the phone out of the cradle and check the connections etc.. ... - .- -.
