We have this little soldier and he's called Toby.

Cheap to run and depreciation proof. Huge fun and so useful for dump runs.

I think maybe a can of worms have just been opened Shocked Whistle

Maybe I should add MX5 to the list Confused

Boxster is a nice alternative, but would maintenance costs be very high, especially for a car in that price range?

Mustang not from an era that I particularly like, I prefer the earlier (I used to have a 69 Mach 1 when they were cheaper) and later models.

Get yourself a Lotus Elan Turbo SE. I am on my 3rd one, if you want a fast fun to drive 2 seater sports car there is noting better Twisted Evil (MX5 is doesn't come close Rolling with laughter ). As the body is fibreglass you don't need to worry about tin worm. If your handy with a set of spanners then maintenance is easyish and pretty cheap as most of the consumables are isuzu or vauxhall 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Add one of these to your list:

Had one a few years ago and was AMAZING! Fun on a different level and next to nothing to go wrong/fix. It's Epic fun and cheap. If you can add a bit more £££ you could get the turbo with a bit more refinement and POWER! [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Agreed but only the older modern style would be cheap and you still get a great engine and fab engine note....

How about the Honda S2000?? Always fancied one of those (after my BMW 325 convertible also "opened" the heater radiator TWICE, creating a "nice" Turkish bath environment inside the car Sad) but then moved to Subsaharan Africa Smile They are reputed to be excellent cars and the engine is very revvy and really screaming like a Jap bike at high revs Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I was thinking a Stag, I understand the enthusiasts have sorted all it's problems and at last it's the car it should have been. Also no depreciation and no road tax - very much unlike my RR Surprised Geoff
