Ooooh, a Lotus Carlton. I had one once. Nice. Bit scary, in a sort of 1980's uncontrolled kind of way. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Graham

It looks small. I remember it as a great big scary 380BHP thing. Graham

The LC is a big beast and is very scary in the wet. The FFRR is massive and makes anything look small.

The FF is pretty clean, looked at over 20 before I found this one and upped my budget a few k's to get the TDV8. The only real mark on it is the ding in the passenger side wheel that I did after hitting a rock at the side of the road at 60 Big Cry 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Steve, looks like your LC is in better condition than mine, but I would expect that if you have had yours 16 years. The one think i like about having an LC up here is the nearest speed camera is 60 miles south of me Laughing 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Hi Andy, Mines currently in a specialist garage having a misfire investigated. If ever you need to source parts for it let me know as they're rare and I spent so much time and money on it over the years I usually have a good idea where to get them as I've built up quite a base of contacts . e.g. original coil pack and interface was £1580 new (it was the 1st thing I had to get for it , luckily under a 3rd party warranty) , I've now got this down to as low as £100 for 3 coils & interface by importing from the USA!!! Steve

Thanks Steve the biggest issue I have had in 2 years in the 3 way valve, took me 8 months to find the coolant leak. The only rare bits I am after are the adaptors for the aircon as mine is still set up for r12 (but is empty). Are you a member of Autobahnstormers? I am quite familiar with Lotus and their GM sourced parts as I also have an Elan M100 and the only car the the engine is comon to is the Isuzu RS Impulse (which was only sold in the US) 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Hi Andy, I've not had the coolant leak issue (which surprises me as I've had everything else!!). I went to an air-con specialist about 1.5miles from my house to see about converting my A/C to modern day coolant etc and 2 days before I was going to take it in, I had a major engine issue so haven't been back yet. He was going to pressure test my system first, and if OK, he had the relevant connector adapters to convert it and was going to use a bottle of fluid that apparently reacts with the freon to neutralise it, and then you can use a modern regrigerant without removing the old. The charge was going to be @£125 . The adapters seemed to be straightforward to do, he had a box full of them as I remember as he was showing me them. The 2 aircon connectors are quite a way apart so I had printed off the diagrams to show him where they were. I'll get back there one day!! Steve
