Kick plates repair or replace?

My tread/ kick plates are the black and silver standard vogue ones. The black is chipping off, would it be worth taking them off sanding and spraying silver or will they just get wrecked soon after ?

Has anyone painted theirs?

Lolo, pull one off and remove the black tape/sticker... The black that's chipping/marking is just a sticker... They are silver anodised aluminium under the stickers and look much newer with them removed...
