MOT in the morning......

Its that time of year again..... Crying or Very sad Mot runs out in 10 days so its going for a mot in the morning.

I have given the car a once over and the only thing i know about on the car is that when you jack up the front drivers side the suspension airbag has a small leak. It doesnt leak on normal height and doesnt loose any when driving or get lower due to leak etc. Air susspension works fine for access height-normal-motorway etc It just wont make it to full off road max height due to the leak, it just keeps trying to.

Do you think it will come up on the mot? I was just waiting for it to "go properly" and the warning message "air suspension inactive" to come on so i can get it fixed by AA as a breakdown rather than me paying for it.

Any ideas if mot will pick it up? or will be purposly jacking car up to check air bags? 2003 Range Rover HSE 3.0 TD6

Depends on how bad the leak is (is an audible hiss)and where you are putting the RR for the MOT. LR garage may well put the suspension up, i doubt a non LR garage would.

I had a Disco TD5 fail for a leaking rear air spring a few years ago 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

They still have to jack up the vehicle to check wheel bearings

You can hear the hiss when you jack it up. Like you say, if they jack it up to check wheel bearings i might have to fork out. Cheers for quick reply. 2003 Range Rover HSE 3.0 TD6
