john's suggestion is the best one me thinks....just remember that the units 'plug' reduces the current from 12 volts to 5 volts .... ... - .- -.

Plug might reduce the volts from 12 to 5 not the current which in theory will go up a bit

i know people that have cut the power plug off and connected directly into the 12 volt supply...fried their stuff ... ... - .- -.

So - I've now got the wiring kit and "add a circuit"
