Tailgate plastic rubbing

Can anyone help...

The top rear corner of the plastic bit on the tailgate (that holds the high level brake light) is rubbing on the body work as I open and shut the tailgate.

Thanks AdoIaria I pinched your pic

I can take it to the dealers, but it's scratching or will break off if I don't solve it. Can it be adjusted or is it the whole tailgate that needs to be done? Wot's that in old money

It sound like the spoiler is rubbing, which thankfully is a seperate part from the boot.

Its held on by 3 bolts, which you can access with the boot fully open, from the inside.

Try loosening them and then see if the spoiler can move a little to clear the rubbing, it should have enough adjustment.

Surely yours is still under warrenty so would be adjusted/repainted by your dealer for free... Or have you bashed it somewhere?

Yup it's under warrantee, it's only a week old.

No paint damage and a 3min job to sort.

Why would I want to drive to the dealers for something so simple? Wot's that in old money

mmmmmm let's consider the options :-

Do it myself 3 mins Thumbs Up

Or

Drive to the dealer 40mins
moan about how inconvenient all of this is and how much of my time they've wasted 5mins
Let them do the work 3mins
consider making a claim for emotional distress 7mins
Drive home again 40mins

I have better things to do and a better relationship with the dealer than to go through all that Very Happy Wot's that in old money

Heyloft what stealers would you take it to?

I think your being a bit optimistic, just because it only took you 3mins to fix don't mean it will take the stealer 3 mins to fix Shocked

Well for that little tweak I wouldn't take it anywhere

But I would use Hunters in Derby. I've been using them for around 8 years and they have never let me down on a LR I have had.

I had a D4 with them for a few days after it lost some of it's gearbox oil. I had a call each day with an update and they fixed the problem thoroughly. On test drive they noticed a wobble and changed the steering rack and steering wheel before I got it back. Thumbs Up

And their coffee isn't too bad either Very Happy Wot's that in old money
