Flashing lights

Hi all can someone tell me what the 3 lights just above the eject button on the flipdown screen?
My middle lights keeps flashing red?and my booklet doesn't cover the model in my car?
It isn't the touch screen one,it is the version before with the tape player behind the panel,
If anyone could tell me what the three lights are for and why my middle one is flashing red?

Thanks guys

They are for the telephone. Something like phone not connected and no network.

Don't have exact information to hand at the minute.

Will check tomorrow if no one else has answered.

Thanks guys very replies too,
I have the phone in the top part of the cubbyhole box but I have an iphone so doubt my sim will fit?
Were do you place the sim in the phone anyway?
Maybe just put a pay as you go sim in for emergencies etc

Can someone tell me how to upgrade the tv from analogue to digital I've seen all the threads but over my head lol
I have the silver tuner box in the boot etc,but van I just purchase a digital box that will be the correct fitment etc?

Regards
Clive

.....no mention of the amber.........

Probably putting a PAYG sim in the car phone would be the simplest way of getting the phone going, but the best way (and of course, more expensive and complicated), is to either add bluetooth to the car, so it pairs with your phone when you get in, or replace the cradle in the car with one for an iphone.

I've added retrofit bluetooth to mine, and it works really well. Have got voice recognition as a bonus as well.

Search for ULF on here if you want to know more.

A few members have integrated the iphone, and will be able to help you if you wish to go that route. The only benefit I can see is that the car will charge your phone, and you'll use the cars phone antenna. Bluetooth won't, but then the phone can stay in your pocket and will pair automatically, whether its in the boot or whatever.

On the digital TV front, I've replaced my tuner with a "hybrid" one from a 2005 X5. The unit looks exactly the same and is a straight swap. Fairly expensive though on the bay of e, unless you get lucky.

I managed to swap mine with a friendly car dealer with an X5 in, so only paid a relative small amount.

The hybrid units receive both analogue and digital, and the 3, 5 and X5 series of BMW's had them from around 2005 onwards.

The cheaper alternatives on offer on the bay etc, tend to work by having extra aerials on the windows and an extra remote to change channels etc. I didn't fancy that - I wanted it all integrated. It would be the cheapest way of doing it though.

If you need to know more, let me know.

Cheers
