Various warning messages

I have a new FF VSE bought in Feb 2011, the issue started with "normal height" only available, followed by no forward alert, followed by cruise not available, I have had the new battery fitted and the turn on engine warning time extended, back last year, but many functions cut out.

It has been in the main dealers since last Monday and they are talking to Land Rover, but they cant seem to find the issue, has anyone else got the same problems?

Road speed sensor....BTDT. (Also called the ABS sensor, if they ask the ECU nicely it might even let them know which one it is Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes ) Land Rover Addict

It is not the ABS according to the dealer, LR have asked them which of 2 compressors is on the car (would have thought they would have known as they built it), as it is a suspension issue!

So likely to be a new compressor or a software upgrade for it.

Mine was in and out while they tried to fix it - seems they were confused by it throwing suspension errors. Do you get more errors than those listed (right down to Park Brake unavailable?) Land Rover Addict

Normal height only available
No Forward alert available
Cruise Control not available.

These are the only ones I get and always Normal Height first.

If I stop and re-start the car, they clear and if I "wack" it into cruise, then they do not reappear on that journey.

That's how mine started Smile

Hopefully they will sort it out before you get Dynamic Stability Unavailable etc etc.

While I remember - if you have the car with you, have a listen to the sills (passenger side) with the engine running - that's where the air pipework runs. Mine had a plastic fastener pushed through the pipework in the factory!! Cause a few issues...worst of which is a constantly running compressor. Fixed mine with duct tape until the dealer replaced the pipework! Land Rover Addict

No, I don't have it, it is in the Main Dealer and has been since last Monday, have a 2012 Disco HSE as a loan car paid for by LR as this is a warrenty issue.

Next time I speak to the tecnician who is working on it, I will mention your points.

Thanks

Shaun,

Just to make it clear, these issues I had were with my previous 2010 5.0SC - not the 2006 TDV8 I have now Very Happy Land Rover Addict

LR have told the dealer that the compressor needs to be replaced, it is due in tomorrow when they will perform the task, will update then.

Fingers crossed. Must say it will be interesting data to add regarding the forward alert/radar. Obviously it's hooked into the who ABS/TC system, but I'm wondering about the reliance on the air suspension considering it's not triggering an adaptive dynamics error.... Land Rover Addict

The problem is solved by the fitting of a new compressor, the dealer techician confirmed that 2 control units are now combined but not the ABS one.
