Tip from a new owner who did it wrong when removing my side steps.

The (plastic square shaped) body panel below the gills/vent, in front of the front doors can be removed easier if you attack the bolts and plastic snap in thingo FROM INSIDE THE CAR WITH THE FRONT DOORS OPEN. As in look past the door hinges into the cavity there.

Doing it from underneath can be done, but is murder, trust me.....
