Anyone else "stuck"?

Tried (in vain) to get home to Glasgow from Preston today! Big Cry

Holiday Inn's nice, but it ain't home!

Very promising update on Virgins' website :-

Flooding is causing disruption at Oxenholme Lake District. In addition to this, a train has broken down between Carlisle and Carstairs.

Because of this, the following alterations will apply until further notice:

•There are currently no trains between Lancaster and Carlisle. No alternative transport is currently available due to roads also being flooded
•Services between Carlisle and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh are also currently suspended.

I may be gone some time! Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I wouldn't bet on getting down as even if you've booked a ticket and seat they will turn it into a first come first served basis as trains were cancelled yesterday Sad bit of a shame really as I'm sure a diesel loco would carry on going even in 2' of water as the major stuff is all high up. Fair enough not at any speed but at least it would get people home Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I think the problem is more to do with landslides than the trains not working.

I will be driving so just hope the roads are not flooded

Thanks for the offer, but finally managed to get on a train this morning. Just leaving Carlisle, so hopefully I've left the problems behind.
It was a landslide at Oxenholme which washed away 20 yards of track both ways! Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Well I guess I could have tried to get a lift in the Typhoon I watched take off and go vertical from about 100 yards, but the nearest airport that flew to Glasgow was Manchester!

The queue at the central station in Glasgow was just ridiculous! I pity the poor souls at the end, outside in the pouring rain! Sad Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
