Black or Silver Alloys

Having a meander through the bay of fleas looking at Alloys to pass the time , thought I would ask the question

What colour of Alloys do you Think best suits the FF ,

Black or Silver .....

And where are all the FF alloys for sale Rolling Eyes Seems to be mostly Sport ones and nearly all in 22" sizes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Is this strictly black or silver, or do colours such as Anthracite also feature in your analysis, Mick?

And do multi-colours also qualify?

If it was purely black or silver, I'd say silver.

But some OF alloys or similar use anthracite or black / silver and, with the right wheel design and accessories, they also look good.

And that's the key. Wheel design. I'd never rule out black if the colour suited the wheel and the wheel suited the model it was fitted to. Si. <This is my name.

Every time I see dark alloys it just makes me think the owner is just too effin lazy to wash off the brake dust.

Bright and clean silver alloys look much better IMHO.

I painted my 20" a very dark grey a little while ago, still trying to get used to them, and still not sure whether I prefer them to silver

Gives the car more of a "street" look (not sure if that is what I want!), but jury still out here....and yes it certainly saves on the cleaning ! .

The darker alloy colors lead to a more aggressive look for the car that never sits right with me, even when its an all black car it just screams street pharmacist to me (no offence to anyone) I guess I'm mostly a purist which is why i go through alloy wheels like no-ones business trying to find the ones i like on the car the most(still not there yet!) FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Black wheels? They're not even acceptable when the hubcaps have fallen off your 1992 Cavalier GL, nevermind on a Rangie. Unless it's to cover up the fact that the Rangie you've just bought has Kahns on it and you've blasted them black so that no-one can see them in the period between now and you finding some proper wheels. That's pretty much the only time black wheels are acceptable. 2003 Vogue TD6/1992 Classic 300TDi/2x 1991 Golf GTI/1966 Volkswagen Kombi/2x 1968 Volkswagen Kombi/Probably something I've forgotten...

Silver, however a gunmetal chrome looks good on paper, but may be a bit on the chessex tractor side.

The style 11's now come in shiny chrome (style 12) which they have bolted to the display ff in the dealer local to me.
Looks a bit blingy.

There was a vogue 20" split spoke painted grey on the bay a while back. Looked ok. Never seen a set on a car.

Full black on a ff......??? No. Dont do it Mick. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

On a car like a FFRR it has to be bright silver (not chrome or polished) or gunmetal grey.

Black looks great on a Defender Thumbs Up
