Respect for Gazellio!

As I am now looking at selling, I thought I would have a pop at advertising private.

My hat goes of to people like Gary that do this everyday!

Had one guy wave £4k infront of me saying he can take it now, cash!

Another that come to view, then complained it is black as he wants silver, even though its advertised Java Black and is clearly black in the pictures. (he then said he thought it would be lighter!)

Endless questions, and now the legendry email! Which reads.........

I am glad to inform you that i am satisfied with the details and conditions of your car on the advert.

Presently,i am in Italy for an assignment and am planing to relocate to Singapore. i will travel down to UK and complete the transaction.Firstly, i will like you to please put it off advert to avoid interruptions from other interested buyers and count it sold.

Concerning the price and my terms of payment,i will be glad to pay you £9500.00.

I will  send you a Bank cheque of £6000.00 which i will allow it to clear into your bank account  .

You will  deduct £2000.00 as a  non-refundable deposit.

The remaining £4000.00 on the deposit will be sent to the shipping agent asap the cheque cleared into your bank account. I was  informed by him that, he will need the funds for shipping  in advance .The shipping agent needs to complete  the shipping document and book a slot at the seaport before i will be traveling down to UK.i don't want to be delayed in UK  due to present situation.i am trying to relocate to Singapore.I would have love to send the payment  alone and get the extra issue out to the haulage company but it takes longer to get UK payment cash elsewhere and would cause delay in transaction as i believe we both don't want any delay in the transaction.

The remaining balance of £8600.00 will be payed into your bank account ,by cash or bank transfer before the car can be pick up.i will be waiting for 48hrs for you to confirmed the balance before the shipping agent can pick it up .Let me know the best way you want the balance to be paid?

i will be using a local haulage company agent to come and collect it from your location as they would be collecting some other items for me asap the balance has been confirmed by you .It will be shipped to SINGAPORE.the reason for this shipment method is as a result of the congestion at the Singapore seaport, which does not make it directly shippable there.

I will  compensating you with £100  for the time involve in paying the shipping agent and  also for you to withdraw the advert immediately you receive the deposit.

If you accept my terms of payment, get back to me with the NAME,ADDRESS AND CONTACT MOBILE  TELEPHONE NUMBER  for Bankers cheque to be delivered to you .I look forward to a successful transaction with you and await your urgent response.

PLEASE NOTE,ITS WHEN THE FULL PAYMENT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY YOU BEFORE THE  DOCUMENT WILL BE RELEASE TO ME AND SIGN

Alan.

Big Cry

Gary, and all the other car dealers, I salute you Bow down

(Even my Porsche was easier to sell, the people ringing and enquring were genuine!) Reformed

No, just the usual sites like Autotrader, Pistonheads and eBay. That said after dealing with the tyre kickers and weirdos, I may have sold it! Reformed

Tyre kickers and weirdos ? Thought you said you didn't advertise it on here..........

Thats the worst part about selling private - all of it...........

I did sell my beloved M5 private, and the buyer flew down from Aberdeen to Staffordshire to see it, so I knew he was serious........

Hopefully you will have sold it then......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

England 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

Totally agree tried to sell the wife's car last year had a guy drive from cornwall to nottingham to look at a 4yr old dodge nitro only to tell me that "he pitied me" for the scratches on the plastic door foot plates! It's 4yrs old ffs! Of course it's got some marks on it. I then showed him the 2month old xc90 I'd been using as a van and he almost collapsed. To be fair tho, it lead a hard life only because it's the worst car I've had the displeasure of driving for over 10yrs 07MY SC VSE (on its way)

The list of previous cars is long & some are boring there has been two RRC's and a very pimped hilux
