Two IPads ..... But

Me and the wife both have iPad 3's both the 16gb WI FI version yet on hers in the menu it has a field which says "switch iPad off when cover closed" yet mine does not have that feature ...

Hers never holds a charge for anymore than 4/5 hours (already had it back to the apple store they told me it is a bug ) plus it gets seriously hot at times

Yet mine can run for about 10 hours and not get hot at all

Also on hers to write anything in CAPITALS. You have to press a letter then the arrow then a letter then the arrow ( checked settings on hers for auto capitalisation but it don't work )

Whereas mine double tap the arrow button and capitals stay on ...

Strange how two the same can be different ..... Anyhow RANT over Laughing ====================================

Maybe it's a racist thing Wink

I always find a full reset helps with a lot of little bugs, ir download the full iOS and do a forced restore. Then test it before restoring data back on.. Then same after restore... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Throw the wee fecka in the bin n buy a new one for her mick Wink

Or tell her to buy a new one herself...

Or the serious option is do what every other woman with an apple product does.

Book a genius(oxymoron!) appointment and get her to break down in tears if they dont replace it!!!

Mick, I would go back to the Apple store and demand a replacement. I have an iPad 3 and have no issues that you describe on your better half's.

Apple are aware of the heat issue relating to some iPad 3's.

Good luck Current MY2020

Mick, sounds like it is time to take it to an Apple Genius (?!?!?) and get it swapped. If you have restored it to factory settings already and had no joy then let them sort it out for you. They will probably swap it for a new one Thumbs Up

Apple may have it's faults, but customer service generally isn't one. I have an ipad2 that they swapped out for a new one 11 months after I had bought it (I had noticed some light leakage in a corner of the screen whilst watching a movie on a flight). They even replaced the leather smart-cover as a piece of grit had got under the magnetic bar and this would have damaged the replacement unit. Cannot complain...
