Sticking Doors

All my doors stick shut when it's freezes hard.

The rubber, at the top of the door sticks to the roof.

Anyone else have / had this problem and if you fixed it how?

No silly comments about sticking in a garage thanks, as it will not fit. The Bike and my tools take priority.

I use the remote heater to defrost the car before I get in and I have not had this problem.

There is a simple fix to prevent this. It's something like wiping the seals with wd40 or fairy liquid, I'm certain it's in the owners manual somewhere. Discovery 4 HSE

this is ggod stuff - Wurth Rubber Care Gel Stick. My pa used to keep a small bottle of clear silicon liquid for just this purpose. Not sure if you can buy it off the shelf these days.

just remembered what the clear liquid was....glycerine. don't use WD40 or oil based as it gets all over you when you get in or out!

Thanks to those who answered sensably.

I will try the silcone spray route, as I have some in the garage, when it decides to get cold again.

Cheers

I got some Autolym Silicone Spray:

http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/autogly...oogle-base

Works a treat, I apply every time I wash the car.

Anything solvent based (vasceline, WD40 etc) will eventually damage the rubber seals.
