10-30mins... So how long will it take your element to melt/heat the screen resevoir before the washers will work my friend?

Well they claim within 30-60 seconds of the car being started the reservoir will be upto operating temperature of 57 degrees and it will reheat once used within 30 seconds max.

Sure you can reroute the hoses around the engine to get the water warmer, but the engine on a td6 takes a fair amount of time to heat up.

The reason why it will be useful for me, is that I don't commute at specific times, when I need to drive it is usually last minute and when in winter, even down here in tropical London the iced up screen can take ages to clear with the FBH on and heated screen. I'll give it a go and test it out. Tom

the only problem i can see is the wipers being stuck onto the glass and might not be free until the warm water 'de-ices' them......maybe a combination of heated screen on first and then the warm water might work.. ... - .- -.

I was amazed last Winter at how quickly the heated screen clears the ice off the screen, but the FBH is the real jewel when it's cold, especially since it is on a timer so I set it 15 minutes befor I leave for work, and get in to a nice toasty car. Marvellous! I've never had a heated screen before - they're bloody brilliant!

Must admit I'm looking forward to giving the FBH a try in winter! I'm hoping it has enough range that I can activate it from the comfort of my warm bed, giving the missus a smug look before turning over for another 10 minutes snooze Laughing

I had (apparently) heated washer jets on my Touareg, wires going to them and everything. Absolutely useless. Still froze unless I had lots of screenwash in it. Do the LR ones actually work? Lloyd Barnes
