Windscreen

Can someone tell me if the 2 black plastic strips on the outside of the windscreen down either side are fixed securely on their car or do they flex when pushed or pulled.

I only ask coz on our way down here to sw france, they made one hell of a racket when driving along at motorway speed or a lower speeds when stuck behind traffic and leaning forward to look at them when driving they flap about quite a bit.

I thought that a FFRR was quiet and refined until we made the trip down here Rolling Eyes
Car is booked in to dealer when we get back home but just wanted some ammo to fire at them after spending £50k plus on a car I'm a tad dissapointed with it.

TIA

Wales 2003 Range Rover SE Td6 Zambezi Silver

My trims are tight against the screen. If I try to lift them with my finger they do flex slightly (just a few mm though). If you can actually see them moving when you drive something is amiss. Maybe it's had a new screen fitted in the past and the pillar trims were not fitted correctly. There may be a thread or 2 about this on the forum somewhere.

Hope that helps.

Mike,

Thanks for the reply. Mine are definately fooked then because I could pull mine straight off without any force if I wanted too and they do move quite a bit @ motorway speed.

Cheers

Maybe the plastic clips that hold them in place are gubbed ,,,, and if they have been taken off i can only think a new windscreen has been put in …
