Thanks for your input so far, lots of reading and reviews. John Lewis seems the way for the 5 yr warranty.

Panasonic 47" LCD MODEL TX-P50VT50 was voted the best tv by stuff and T3 mags this summer. Comes in around £2000

Or best plasma winner: 50"Panasonic TX-P50GT50 for £1400! I am getting one when I get back from overseas! The VT variant is £2400.

These won best tv for films, sport, action movement and smart 3-d capability.

Had my UE46D7000 Samsung for more than a year now.......well happy.

Paid £1500 with a 3D Blu-Ray player and one of those wireless remotes that have a touchscreen on.and can show you the TV picture as you are walking round the house.

I don't bother with the 3D to be honest.

I am sure you will be very happy with your purchase.

Samsung all the way Smile

Had mine a while now about 5yrs and the best LCD I've seen yet!

There are loads of cheap ones out there but the choice was a Sammy or a Sony and the Sony's are always more money... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
