Bonnet Release cable snapped

Im hoping its just at the release handle end BUT has anybody replaced theirs?

IE how do i take the panel off with the handle and i believe the cable is in 2 parts so how easy is it it to replace the first part?

If not done(ive done a search and there is mention of cable failures but no guides!) then another for my list i guess... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Thats the one i found stan but no details on the trim piece removal or any pictures.

Gunna have to have a bash i guess and then stick pics in gallery to help others.

Would be nice if we had an FTP upload site to dump and organise pictures on Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

If the cable has snapped at the pull handle end you can access the cable from under the driver side wheel liner....I think Shocked

Stan that is the super post i tried looking for!!

Thank you very very much!!

Will get it off tonight and check it over quickly as its just like a bike cable so some HTU grease down each tube should keep the other cable going for a bit as well depending on where its broken Smile

Thanks again Stan Mucho Appreciated Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

KP, have a look around for a motorbike cable lubricator. They clam around the end of the cable and allow you to squirt lubricant into the cable with a spray can. The lubricant can go quite far into the cable as the outer cable is "sealed shut" to the lubricant goes into the cable instead of all over the place. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Hi mate. To get to the cable open the drivers door, pull the mat out if you have them, then lift the kick plate up. Think there are 4 clips holding it, then pull the black handle surround straight towards the back of the car. The handle will stay where it is and you will find the snapped cable. Hope you can follow that???? [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

My cable broke last week, so ordered one. Tried fitting it today, I'd ordered a LHD cable! Embarassed
A bit of cobbling later and I make a good release by interchanging old and new bits, phew!! Cool

Good tips!
