I put new discs and pads on mine and now the brakes are razor sharp on the road . I get a sinking pedal at standstill that was probably there before the work ,but I wasn't looking for it so never noticed . Its just how ABS works so its ok.

If the brakes are ok on the road then everything is fine, the MOT will confirm everything

Mine is, and always has been, the same, nothing to worry about, I've tried a few other 4.4's and they all do it.....

I was still not happy with the brakes so I had a look through the bleeding procedure in my new workshop manual.
It was to my dismay that I found that the place where I gleaned the pre manual info from, was an American based forum. I Found out that the info found on a North American forum about the brake bleeding order was good for an American left hand drive car but wrong for my Right Hand Drive car. Trust me it makes a difference!!
Who would have thought that it would cause such a significant amount of air to be trapped on the system even though I was using an easy bleed and pushed an extra litre through the system at 36Lb.sq. in., just to make sure it was well flushed with fresh dot 4.
To help any one else reading this the order for a UK LHD is as follows.
Near side front=1
Off side front =2
Near side Rear =3
Off side rear. =4
My brakes are now spot on and giving the solid peddle pre start up and peddle travel on start up.
Feel much happier now.[/b] Eddie the eagle watch out 👀
