Conversion Project: 5.0 SC Range Rover Vogue to RRV AB

Anyone knows if its feasible to change the rear seat of a normal RRV with the rear seat of a RRV AB so that it will have the reclining seat function and leather cooling function? Can i order the parts (inclusive of the wirings) base on the VIN number of a RRV AB vehicle from the landrover dealer and fit them onto a non-AB RRV so that the functions of the rear seat is the same as the AB RRV? Has anyone tried this conversion before and what are the things to look out for ? Landrover Tuning Servcies Shanghai

You will also have to change the door cards in the rear to incorporate the seat controls, there will be different relays etc for the heating, cooling and reclining function, different fuses etc.

The only way to tell if the seats sit on the same rails is to compare side by side. I'm sure anything is possible but is it actually worth it?

Someone on this forum did swap the rear headrests for the adjustable ones from an Autobiography, as they are simply manually adjusted on the side 'wings' to curl round the passenger's head. Discovery 4 HSE

Have a look on Microcat about said parts price, add it up, and soon enough you will come to the conclusion you might as well buy a real used A/B

However, if you only want the seat upgrade, not the full A/B interior and exterior conversion, what could be done is to use 2 front seats and fit them in the back.

There will be major modification to be done (seat base brackets), and base cusiion mod to accomodate the wheelwell but then the wiring would be simpler and all the motors already there, the leather already in the same colour and finish etc. Plus you get armrest!

Best thing is you can easily try, simply unbolt you rear seats and you front passenger seat to give it a try.

keep us posted. Thumbs Up l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Hi guys!

Thanks for all the useful feedback! i know its going to be a major project but what i need is incorporate the adjustable reclining back seat function plus cooling/heating function of the Vogue AB rear seat into my non-AB rear seat. As long as it is feasible, i will give it a try. I do not need to have the full AB interior and exterior conversion though.

Verydisco,

You mentioned that i can actually use the front seats of the Vogue AB vehicle to fit onto the rear seat of the non-AB rear seat? Landrover Tuning Servcies Shanghai

Im actually trying to consolidate a list of all the parts from microcat that i will need to make this project work. But this point you raised about using the front seat of the VOGUE AB to fit onto the rear seat of my normal vogue 5.0 SC took me by surprise . Im thinking whether it will be easier to order the rear heating/cooling ECU unit and the entire rear seat (only the one behind the non-driver seat) and all the wirings or to use the front seat of the VOGUE AB instead. You have any suggestion? Landrover Tuning Servcies Shanghai

What is most important for me is that i need the Vogue AB reclining rear seat with four-way lumbar control, heated/cooled functionality, head restraints with lateral support fitted on my non-AB RRV. Can anyone offer me any sound advice on this project im undertaking. Many thanks! Landrover Tuning Servcies Shanghai
