Life after the FFRR - Golf Mk 5 GT TDI DSG

Just thought I would pop over to say hello & reflect on the last couple of weeks of non-FFRR ownership:

Pros:
MPG - Average 51 MPG on 44 mile round trip with M-ways, A roads & bit of urban compared to 23 MPG with FFRR
Quick little car, kickdown is v responsive
DSG gearbox is excellent & far better than the TD6 GM thingy
The car is "anonymous"
Solidly built
Reasonable service costs - £249 for a full service @ VW

Cons:
Just the "feeling" of not being in a FF - no smile factor unless I look at the MPG!
Have not been through winter yet Whistle
The car is "anonymous" Wink

I appreciate I am not comparing apples with apples but seeing as my FFRR was kind of wasted on the daily commute, we decided to sell & get a Golf instead.

All in all, I am happy with my lot but can't wait to get back into a FFRR Thumbs Up Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
