Can I suggest that whem posting a useful reply to a known issue you add the KEY WORDS that are likely to be searched for later into the "Optional" Subject box above your post. This should REALLY help people searching on the subject in the future....

Stan, Its not the thread title I am suggesting (although this should be relevant) its the REPLYs to that thread that should have keywords in the Subject [Optional] section of the reply..... (as in this one)

For instance I added the words OIL COOLER BLOCKED to the "SUBJECT OPTIONAL" section of my last post on the current "Transmissions?" thread.

If you do a search for "OIL COOLER" or "OIL COOLER BLOCKED" its now the second result so result!!! (First result is this thread )

Keywords should be in the BODY of the text, as the subject should be a shorter subject rather than a list of keywords.

However, I think you're onto a losing battle with this on anyhow Gary

I mean a few keywords in the OPTIONAL subject box not Title/Subject.....

This box is rarely if EVER used for thread replies.

I am please somebody finally gets my point/idea.....

i do find that when i search using "engine" or "seized engine" for instance [words with quotes], any relevance comes up in the title or more often in the text box ..works for me.  ... - .- -.

Searching in "posts" as opposed to "threads" is also more useful sometimes

I do agree with Gary though, would be good to "insist" on the addition of some keywords or tags before the initial posting in a new thread. Many forums make you do this to reduce stress on the server (thus freeing up processor time allowing people to "quote")  .
