All sorted thank goodness. And its still raining!

Cant thank the guys at Gap Diagnostics enough. They sent me a link to the original settings which were downloaded to the Tool and uploaded to the car automatically and then everything came alive. I then changed back to the current IID Tool version and all is well with the world.
Apart from the weather.

Thanks again guys. A real credit to your company in times when customer service is often sadly lacking.

Credit where credit is due - I slept through most of this. Wink

I received Tom's SOS late last night (going on 11:00PM my time) and immediately fwd'ed it to Christian and Patrick.
The problem really was that, because Tom's battery had died during a CCF write, the CCF had become corrupted and the VIN was not being broadcast - which also prevented the IIDTool from communicating with the vehicle as it listens for the VIN.
So, Christian wrote a patch to the firmware (creating a custom FW just for this situation) which automatically uploaded the CCF back up stored in Tom's IIDTool without the normal IIDTool start/menu. This is the back up we were speaking of in the other thread which is created by the IIDTool automatically following activation on a vehicle.
Christian uploaded the custom FW to our server and wrote Tom an email with detailed instructions on how to DL and update the FW to his IIDTool and use it on his RR. This mail was at 1:35AM Christian's time (EST Canada)! My last mail from Christian was nearly 10 mins later - I was already on my way into the office (7:44AM CET France/Germany).

Made me realize for the umpteenth time what a great bunch of guys I've gotten involved with.

We are all very glad that things worked out well for Tom.

I went to sleep last night picturing how he'd have to break the news to his clients - or SWMBO!
(yes dear, I was...yes dear, RSE..for the kids!...yes dear...it IS NOT a toy...)
Oy vey...

That's excellent news, and its nice to see a company doing all it can to support its customers for once. Too many companies sell the product and thats about it.

Much respect to all the people at GAP..........

Do we need to edit the thread title, so it doesn't appear as though the IIDTool caused the issue ?

Just my 2p.........
