No Oil in Front Diff

After issue of strange noise when foot is on accelerator car has been garage today and there was no oil in front diff!

Have put Oil in but still got noise obviously from damage done. So new front diff required!

Anything else it could of done? Diffs having no oil common issue?

was there any sign of an oil leak that led to it having no oil, mine has a weep from the pinion seal, not enough to create a drip, just a damp area around the seal

Garage didn't say. All i knew was that there was a strange noise so I took it the garage.

I added to original post but then thought I'd make seperate post regards the diff and then it wouldn't let me delete. My bad!
