Got it all sussed this year.
Kids. Stuff they wanted was bought over several months.
Wife. She and I don't exchange gifts, only cards.
Family. All told not to bother as we won't be bothering for them (kids excepted)
Christmas Dinner. Going to MIL.
Boxing Day Dinner. Going to Brother's.

Then, for New Year we're off to York with the Tintent and a couple of bottles, one wine and one Malt. (and some lighter wine for the kids)

Total cost (ish) this year. £500. Result! Thumbs Up

To be brutally frank, I hear a lot of people at work complain about how commercial it's all gotten. Well, only if you let it. Last time I checked there was no enforcement of spending. Just as long as HMRC don't invent a tax Christmas can remain as intended, i.e. a season of good will (not cash and presents) to all men.

For us it's a time to go Carol Singing, the one time each year I venture into church (only to decorate it for the village service though Laughing ) and to reflect on the year gone by, for me peronally to be grateful for my wonderful family and look forward to another year of being a lucky chap indeed. I mean, good wife, great kids, 2 of the best dogs a man could wish for, a FFRR, a nice wee cottage in a village, good health, and a decentish job to fund it all. Yep, blessed indeed am I.

Aye, when we trying for our 1st I thought great, shagging aplenty, but I'm ashamed to admit, it got to be rather tiresome in the end, more like a chore so to speak!
