Just another thought...
"In your case it cannot be the ignition switch. A defective ignition will cause the same cranking problem than Johnte had but you won’t have this fault code: B1103 enable crank relay short to ground or relay open."
The fault code could have been caused by your mechanic making tests. For example, if the starter solenoid is disconnected to test the wire, this could have caused the fault to appear (open circuit).
What I should have said is:
It could be the ignition switch but you should test the starter solenoid and immobilizer connections first. They seem more plausible.
