Will, as has been covered many many times before here on the site... Never offer to jump start anyone else's car with yours....... A, you have no idea how bad their battery condition could be! B, as posted earlier you need to wait a good 15mins + before starting... & C, do you really want to take the risk with your ECU's etc etc

My advice would be to have the ability to connect to your towing electrics (if your battery is flatter than a Witch's Tit!) so you can open your car etc etc...

And for everything else (jump starting everyone else & yourself) buy the very best Jump Pack you can afford and carry it in your boot (charging it via your boot cigar point)

Probably about the same costs too...

^^^^ Or just another 110A battery, or bigger, charged the same way.
Don't think it would be too difficult to strap it to the floor panel.

The secondary battery idea is a good one but i think about 80ah is the only size that i can fit in the boot side without loosing bootspace, aka DAN UK stylee.

I see your point about not jumping others but would the AA and RAC not have the same issue with their vehicles then as they are doing it day in day out so would be more at risk of it overall?? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I just meant sit a large battery in the boot space for the occasions you would need it.

problem with another battery is that it never seems to work. Tried it a few times with a car thats not started and the recipient vehicle wouldn't fire. As soon as the donor was started after about 10seconds the recipient vehicle fired up Smile

Guessing the diesels struggle more with this due to higher crank needs thought.

A booster pack seems a better way to go methinks now so off to ebay land i go! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

This would work.

Can't see why a 110AH battery and a set of jump leads wouldn't be just as good and a lot cheaper.
