I have done this crossing a few times and luckily only had 1 bad crossing. The mother in law thought she was going to die on it once. She clung onto a bannister in a stairwell for virtually the whole crossing... Hours.

Worked on a rig west of Shetland a few years ago. Not a pleasant experience during winter with 30-40ft waves coming through.

I'll have you know I started at 02:00am yesterday morning and drove over 400 miles for a days work and today I managed to cram in a 12 hour shift...But I'll be surfing the net all day tomorrow

Looks like the ferry crossing i had when i was younger on the holyhead dunloughrie crossing. Galeforce6 and the captain took it out after 9hrs moored up on the otherside of the harbour as the conditions 'looked calmer'!

Only time i have ever chucked up on a ferry in my life im sure some of that was due to the food we got stuck eating

Everything on the car deck was strapped down good and proper with as much strapping as they could lay their hands on. Probably why spent 9hrs moored up so they could do that bit alone! on one of the downers i thought the ship would break apart as it slammed down with such force there was a good groan...

There is a reason that on "normal" vessels everything is bolted down  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
