Steering wheel with light or without?

Gentlemen..., a little question from germany: Is it normal, that at the steering wheel of my 2002 RR HSE with wheel heater and paddles? for telefon and radio, the paddles? are not with the instrument-lights like at a 2007 TDV8 vogue? In the night, when I switch on the normal drivelights, I can´t see the paddles?(german word: Tasten) for the volume or the next sender or for telefon.

By paddles do you mean buttons ?

Anyway, on my steering wheel (non heated '02) all the "buttons" on both sides of the wheel light up when lights are on .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

The paddle lights need to be connected separately as they were not an option on the pre 2009 cars. The other lights will work (telephone, volume etc) but the paddles need to be wired in, I think they are white rather than green, but can be modded to match with some tape. Tom

Gentlemen, thanks for the replies, my buttons (the correct word!) are without light, since I was at the LR-stealers last year..., which cable in the steering column is the correct cable for the button-lights???? In RAVE there is nothing to see?

Regards, and a happy christmas-event for all RR-enthusiasts!! TDV8 4.4 from 2012, 278.000km like new + Lancia Flavia Coupe 1964 + RRS L494 3.0 SDV6 + C220CDI Convertible 2021
