I think so, but not certain....

It would certainly explain it being B&W.

The only other possible cause is low light level, some colour cameras automatically switch to B&W in lower light levels.

Actually, a quick search says NTSC, so may be low light levels - or it's a PAL camera in the wrong box......

Hi alistair think it might be the later as the light levels are pretty good here at the moment so it's quite possible it's been the wrong camera i will get in touch with the supplier and see what happens
Cheers for the quck reply and advise F**K IT you only live once

Do you have the touchscreen Stu? Have you tried the 753 menu for testing? Can you select pal or NTSC in there for testing? Previously..

So, you can see it in colour in the 753 menu, but not in normal use, is that right? Have you checked the wiring diagram for the camera, is there a link or whatever to enable pal or NTSC by default? Previously..

Yes on the test it's colour but when selected by reversing it B&W there is no way of changing from one to the other and there is no info on the instructions just a wiring diagram?

If it works fine in test when you click on PAL then it looks like you defo have it set up for pal, but you need it set up for NTSC. If the camera does both there must be a way of changing it. If you can't see a link or wiring diagram you will have to google the camera make and hopefully see how to set it to NTSC... If you can that is!!!! I don't know if it is possible to set the car to default to either NTSC or PAL sorry. Previously..

Uk works on the PAL system, if you have an NTSC camera it won't display correctly.

NTSC stands for National Television Standards Committee. PAL stands for Phase Alternating Line. NTSC is the standard broadcast format in the United States, while PAL is the standard broadcast format in Europe, Australia, and parts of Asia.

The other main difference between NTSC and PAL is resolution quality. While PAL produces fewer frames per second than NTSC, it produces more lines. An NTSC television will broadcast 525 lines of resolution, while a PAL television will broadcast 625 lines of resolution. As the lines of resolution increase, so does the amount of visual information. This produces better picture quality and screen resolution. If you were to try to convert an NTSC movie to PAL, black bars would most likely be added to compensate for the smaller screen aspect. The black bars would resemble what you would see in a widescreen or letterbox movie.

NTSC will display (albeit in B&W) on a PAL system but PAL will not display on an NTSC system.

There are converters available which will change the system, might be worth looking to see if they are available for your camera
