Dartmoor National Park

I've decided to get away from the rat race for the next 6 days and rented a cottage just on the north edge of Dartmoor Narional Park. Just SWMBO, little chap, the dog and the RR. I've been looking to see if there are any green lanes through the Park to play on but without much success.

Does anyone have any experience of this part of the world and any good places to get some pub grub?

I took the RR down over the middle of Dartmoor a couple of months ago. Had a very good meal right in the middle of Dartmoor with fantastic views, could see for miles. I will get the name and postcode later as i have got no time now. Gone:

Golf GT TDI 150- Still got.
BMW 325TD
Range Rover Classic

This is a link to the Warren House Inn. Its in the middle of Dartmoor with brilliant views, the food is also very good. The pub is run by a generator as it is out in the sticks.

The postcode is PL20 6TA. Have a look on google maps or street view. We stayed two miles down the road in a village called Postbridge at the Lydgate House Hotel also a lovely little village. I will be returning soon as it is stunning down there, especailly on a clear day.

Did not look for any green lanes though Gone:

We found the Warren House Inn, as Oliver said, great views and good grub by a log fire which apparently has never gone out since 1836! Thanks.

There are some great places to visit and walks to have and good fun to drive down country lanes that the sat nav send you down that state 'Not Suitable For Wide Vehicles'. With stone walls either side and small bridges, I can confirm they are not suitable for a RR unless like me you are mad and like a challenge.

We are staying in a farm cottage with 26 acres which has it's own forest and tracks and yes, the owner is happy for me to explore in my RR...result!
