Nick, may i ask you a question that probably many members are thinking and that is , why did you take a £90k 'ish range onto salisbury plain..i've done this trip twice and both times i was finding 'salisbury plain mud' in/under my range at least 4 months after the trip so yours must also be 'caked' up with the same mud...
i also went through the 'fords' but by that time the mud had dried to much for it to wash off... ... - .- -.

Craig- glad you (family) enjoyed the trip. Good to put faces to names. I hope mine did not scare too the children!

Stan- I suppose the answer to the £90k-ish question depends on how precious you are about your FFRR. I have been 'laning' my everyday car, typically once month, for the last 22 years. Always on road tyres and with no guards. Somehow I ended up with the Freelander as a dedicated off road vehicle a few years back. What I now find is that the FL1 is in a worse state than the FFRR ever was because less caution is applied and I think that is not what green laning is about. I have loved and cherished every Rangie I've had but all cars are built for one thing, driving, and for a FFRR that includes mud, sand, motorway and Chelsea. Hence I have just been to the tip and have a beach family to collect later. The Hoover, pressure washer and a bit of polish seem to get it back to standard. Oops long post. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

Looking good Nick. Thumbs Up

I managed to get to the local carwash 20minutes before they closed on Saturday evening. It pays to be a regular as they had the car clean before closing time. They even popped the bonnet and gave the engine a wash-down.
