Thought this maybe a prudent fact after going through loads of web pages within the last 200miles my vogue had a expansion tank fail and a thermo star go bad both which were done and the system re bleed the car did get extremely hot, could this of affect the oil in the box causing it to slip??

The usual apologies for resurrecting an old thread but I have exactly the same issue that Cliffy describes here, other than I have p0730 and p0732 along with the 3B1h code.
In the vain hope that he's still a regularly visiting member, did you ever get to the bottom of the problem? Thought I'd ask before I go through the 'replacement box' route.
Fingers crossed that someone is still out there....
