England 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver
Look what I found this morning

I’ve been generally unwell for the past two years or so and the wife has gone over to the Audi side so the the Range Rover has just been sat. I’ve managed to get up and out and start her up and move it up and down the drive so things don’t get seized up - as they do..But found this this morning, blood ran cold I can tell you.

So now looking to source a panel from a breaker so it can all be cut out, treat the new part and all other rusty bits and weld it in - hopefully. So far the search has been fruitless as no one either has good used ones or produces new panels - it’s madness. I don’t want to get rid but I don’t think it would pass an MOT like that 😊

Btw I tried to edit the picture but it still orientates oddly- sorry ______________________________

You'll need to find as late or low miles mint car that's met with a sad ending to find a rust-free part. I had mine done at a body shop, I think just in time as not to require major surgery. Might be worth asking a breakers in a US dry state if they could cut a section.

There was a thread on here a few weeks ago where YRM Metal Solutions in Hamsterley we’re looking at making repair sections. It might be worth you popping to see them given they are not far from you. Best of luck getting it sorted. 2004 L322 4.4 V8 Vogue Bonatti Grey

Thank you all for your kind thoughts, it has been a traumatic time for me dropping from a very fit 16 stone to 8st 10lbs, my own mother didn’t recognise me but on the bright side my bad back likes the weight loss Very Happy . It’s not over yet as I’m undergoing further cancer tests which is a bit like watching the lottery on tv and waiting to see if you’ve won.

Many thanks for the suggestions for the fatty both great ideas and ones I hadn’t even thought about, I’ll scour the US breakers and definitely contact YRM this morning. ______________________________

Well just had this back from YRM and all doesn’t seem lost - ish

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the email and info
We have received a sample, but seem incomplete
We would be able to supply a section for the outer sill, but the wheel arch section is a pressed and your talking over 10K minimum per side in tooling
At present we are busy with other projects, but we could look this later in the year

Regards

So it’s a wait and see......... ______________________________
